Happy Gilmer Picks Up Mad Dawg Win

Hinshaw wins first career Mad Dawg event
(5-04-08) Mocksville,NC- Until yesterday's season opener, Gilmer Hinshaw had never once qualified for a Mad Dawg event, despite several previous attempts. When he finally did make the show, he flat stole it.
Hinshaw, a 2004 NHRA divisional champion in Top Sportsman, campaigned a Chevy Monte Carlo in years past that was free of modern conveniences like a computer, and other gadgets Hinshaw refers to as "fancy stuff". Frankie Marshburn Shines As the $50,000.00 Winner at the Big Bucks Bonanza
April 25-27, 2008- Local racers shine over the rain at the 2008 BIG BUCKS Bonanza weekend at Farmington Dragway. Over 150 racers from twelve different states were on hand for the 4th annual Big Bucks Bonanza weekend of racing at the Farm. Mother Nature would be the winner in the end, as rain postponed Saturday’s big 50k finals to Sunday. That race was completed before rains force the track to cancel Sunday’s planned 10k.
The 50k win went to local racer Frankie Marshburn of Mooresville; NC in his WSC powered Race Tech Dragster. This was Frankie’s biggest win of his drag racing career for him and wife Wanda in their “FAWCO” (Frankie And Wanda Company) Dragster. Marshburn clicked off a .02 reaction and ran a 4.74 ET off a 4.75 dial-in to beat out Brian Townsend for the Big Bucks 50k win. Frankie and Wanda wanted to thank Chuck Martin and Friday’s 10k runner-up Charlie Doss for... [Read More]
